The Swiss gateway to the Espace Mont Blanc, the Col de la Forclaz (1,527 m) links Martigny in Valais (Switzerland) to Chamonix in Haute-Savoie (France). You should start early in Martinach because of the June sun. The climb is not easy :)

An extremely cute and bohemian refuge, hidden in the hamlet of Le Puisy. The refuge is a must on the Tour du Mont Blanc, due to the campsite located just opposite. The shelter offers accommodation, food, coffee and most importantly, cold beer, making it a great place to recover after a long summer run.
