This bridge is worth stopping! When you look over the edge you will look deep down into a gorge with furious water that cut deep into the rocks. An absolute highlight!

In the shade of the trees, we hike along the Generations Trail to the Nixenfall. This path is well signposted and (apart from the last section) also suitable for prams. A water wheel and numerous adventure stations where children and interested people can balance, feel and go on a journey of discovery make the trail a family highlight. On the way there are leprechauns and their stories by Marie Mohn, which the children can read or listen to as audio books using a QR code.

This beautiful, easy family hike with numerous adventure stations leads us to a waterfall that, according to legend, is home to a mermaid.

This waterfall is located in Kreuzstein at the foot of the Schafberg and on the southern shore of Lake Mondsee. It is easy to find - behind the former Hotel Kreuzstein, immediately after the tunnels (coming from Mondsee) there is a path to the waterfall and from there on to the Eisenau-Alm.
