The Seethalerhütte on the Dachstein is located at 2,740 m, making it the highest mountain hut in Upper Austria. Surrounded by the eternal ice of the Dachstein glacier, the hut is located in a breathtaking setting and offers a wonderful view of the mountains all the way to the Großglockner. The first hut was built on this site in 1929 and managed by Sepp Seethaler for 50 years. The new hut, planned by Dreiplus Architekten from Innsbruck, was opened at the end of 2018.

Very large Alpenvereinshaus with hot meals, self-service on the terrace. Good starting point for further hikes.
