Ideal for a short break

Murten Castle dates back to the time of Count Peter II of Savoy (1255). Under the portal from 1516, which was rebuilt several times and in its current form dates from 1755, there was a cistern that is now only marked in the paving. The large, square tower, the so-called keep or "Luegisland", was used by Adrian von Bubenberg to monitor the events during the battle. While the castle was previously the residence of the mayors or was used as a hospital, barracks and prison, it is now the seat of the senior office of the Fribourg lake district. Laupen, a picturesque town in the canton of Bern, is located at the confluence of the Sense and Saane rivers. The different roof shapes, ridge heights and reddish-brown tiles give it a historical character. Strategically located, the impressive border fortress defied the attacks of the Habsburgs. If you like walking, you can also explore the old village center of Laupen.

Beautiful path along the water that turns into a real jungle path in summer. Here you can observe ducks, dragonflies and other animals.
