The Oedter See is an artificial bathing lake in Traun. It is part of a local recreation area that also includes an outdoor pool, an indoor pool with sauna and an ice rink. Together with the Pichlinger See, the Oedter See represents a valuable recreational area in the Linz-Land district.

The lower Trauntal between Gmunden and Wels is designated as a bird sanctuary of European importance. The river itself, the alluvial forests along its banks and the adjoining cultural landscape are breeding areas and habitats for numerous species that have now become rare.

Good bathing lake along the way with a free sandy beach on the northern shore, it is much quieter and more relaxed on the southern corner.
