The Mutual Building is located at the bottom of Broad Street in the capital city of Bridgetown, Barbados. It is one of the most distinctive buildings in Bridgetown and a landmark of the city. The Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Society (The Mutual) was founded in 1840 after emancipation and, until its demutualization, was the oldest surviving indigenous insurance company in the Caribbean. Naturally, it needed a headquarters in the capital, and its official building was built in the late Victorian style with silver domes, lending an elegant aura to the city's surroundings.

Also take a moment to visit and admire the Independence Arch, which stretches over the Chamberlain Bridge leading to Independence Square. West of Independence Square, Bridgetown's wooden promenade runs along the waterfront. It's definitely worth a stroll. In November (Barbados' independence month), the square is illuminated in the national colors of blue and gold. During the Christmas season, many illuminated Christmas trees decorate the square.

The Chamberlain Bridge is a bridge in Bridgetown, the capital and largest city of Barbados. In 1872, it was a swing bridge spanning the sea inlet channel of the inner basin of the Careenage (Constitution River) in Carlisle Bay. The aging steel structure was dismantled and rebuilt in 2005–2006 as a lift bridge using the latest technology in a single-leaf, composite bascule structure. This structure features a counterweighted bridge section that pivots upward to allow pleasure craft to pass through an inlet channel. National Heros Square is dedicated to the national heroes who fought for a free Barbados. In the centre is the Dolphin Fountain, the fountain that was built to commemorate the first water pipes that were laid in Bridgetown in 1861.
