Cycling is not allowed in this location You will have to transport your bikes. THIS REMARK DOES NOT MAKE SENSE, "respect" for cyclists (many) and "tolerance" for pedestrians (few) and everything will happen in order and dignity!!!

Very beautiful old French town with many cafes to linger. Furthermore, on the edge of the old town you have a fantastic view of Lake Murten.

From up here you have a good view of the Broye Canal and can see the ships passing by.

A nice resting place with excursion restaurant

Always nice to come through here. Thanks to the weir, circumnavigating Lake Biel is easier and also exciting. The technology is ingenious and a guided tour is absolutely worthwhile. There are enough reports - also from me!

Since EXPO 2002, the Pont Rotary has made crossing the Broye possible. The structure had deteriorated so badly in recent years that a complete renovation became unavoidable. Now, the bridge, once reserved exclusively for non-motorized vehicles, shines in new splendor! The Pont Rotary (named after its initiators/funders) connects the northern and southern banks of the Broye and not only shortens routes, but also allows for a wide range of motorized traffic, which ultimately benefits everyone! After a lengthy construction period, the popular route is once again accessible by bike or on foot. The bridge had been more than just dilapidated for some time. Now it has been completely renovated and can once again fully serve its purpose. Let's hope for a long time to come! Thus, the tiresome stretch on the other side of the canal (through the campsite) has served its purpose.

The Laupen Castle Foundation has been managing the castle and its surroundings since December 1, 2012. For you as a visitor, we will preserve the buildings, some of which are 1000 years old, and let you immerse yourself in the Middle Ages without having to forego the amenities of the 21st century.
