The Morasco dam is an artificial dam that originates the lake of the same name located in the upper Val Formazza, with a surface at an altitude of 1815 m above sea level. The dam was created in the 1930s by the Edison company to generate electricity for the valley by submerging the town of Morasco, a town of Walser origin inhabited since the 15th century.
