Wonderful place next to the Danube

The Bavarian Police Museum presents its collections in the Triva Tower, a fortification built at the same time as the Tilly Redoubt and now integrated into the popular Klenze Park. The history of the police still awaits discovery, and so the museum invites visitors to embark on a journey of discovery from the turbulent times of the Bavarian Revolution of 1918/1919 to the battle for the Wackersdorf nuclear reprocessing plant. Topics range from police training during the Third Reich to border security during the Cold War. The exhibition provides insights into the inner workings of the police, displaying a wide variety of familiar and obscure pieces of equipment as well as surprising personal documents.

Klenze Park is worth a stop. Across the street, at the Cavalier Dalwigk monument, cannons were once cast. Today, you can enjoy the view of the Danube with a cool drink in the summer lounge. Be sure to check the opening hours.

The Schutter is a left tributary of the Danube, flowing through the Altmühltal Nature Park and the city of Ingolstadt. The name first appears as a settlement name on a 2nd-century inscription: VIK(ani) SCU[T]T(arenses). Nevertheless, the name may be of Germanic origin and related to the verb *skeut-a- "to shoot" in the sense of "fast-flowing, rushing water." Großmehring Upper Bavaria: Hagen crosses the Danube with the Nibelungs

As of April 2025: The area has been newly graveled, and it's not a great road at the moment. It's really fine gravel, like sand. It's quite tiring over time.
