Huge, flat village fountain in the middle of the old, pretty village center of Valendas. Right next to it is the upscale Gasthaus am Brunnen (15 points Gault Millau).

According to archaeological findings, people settled in the region more than 3,500 years ago. No wonder, after all, Falera is simply in a really beautiful location. The place is popular with outdoor enthusiasts and a great starting point for your active adventures.

From here you have a beautiful view of Falera and the surrounding mountains. The community is situated in a sunny location on a terrace on the left side of the Vorderrhein valley.

The wooden fountain, the landmark of Valendas, was built in 1760. At the beginning of the 20th century, residents still fetched their water and washed their clothes here. To this day, guarded by a water nymph, it remains the heart of the village.

Feldis/Veulden Feldis/Veulden (German and until 1943 officially Feldis, Rhaeto-Romanic Veulden) is a village that belongs to the political municipality of Domleschg Feldis is first mentioned at the end of the 13th century. In the 14th century, the Lords of Rietberg received their tithes. In 1527 the villagers bought their freedom and in 1583 they accepted the Reformation. A fire in 1774 destroyed almost the entire town. Until 1851, Feldis was part of the district of Ortenstein and subsequently became an independent municipality. A road was built between 1901 and 1904, and an aerial cableway was opened in 1958. On January 1, 2009, Feldis/Veulden, which had previously been independent, merged with Scheid, Trans and Tumegl/Tomils to form the municipality of Tomils. Since January 1, 2015 it has belonged to the new municipality of Domleschg as a result of the merger of Almens, Paspels, Pratval, Rodels and Tomils and is therefore a fraction of Domleschg. The historic church just outside the village of Falera is beautiful, as is the cemetery right next to it. It's definitely worth a visit.
