Beautiful path with a great view

The historical castle in ruins and a modern swiss village in the valley. A perfect mixture of old and new. Those who built the castle are long but what remains are their traces. A reminder to us : Nothing lasts forever.

The Schenkenberg ruins are the best proof that history never ends. The castle complex is impressive and well-preserved. There are several barbecue areas within the castle walls. You must bring your own wood, etc. The view over the Schenkenberg Valley is impressive.

The main road over the 569 meter high Bözberg connects the Fricktal with Brugg. If you are on a mountain bike, you have the advantage of being able to go straight back into the forest before and after, thus avoiding traffic.

Very nicely located, on the highest point. So you have a wonderful panoramic view. Plan some time to linger!

On the Bözberg! And no matter which side you arrive from, there are many interesting forest and field paths, trails, and sights in the area. While you're there, I recommend visiting the Linner Linde tree or the old town of Brugg. There's so much more to see there, but there wouldn't be enough space. Have fun!

A flat meadow trail takes you to the idyllically located Gansinger Chapel, built in 1895, on the "summit" of the Laubberg, on the roof of which an iron paw cross sits enthroned. Next to the chapel, the trail leads down a few steps towards Rindelhof. According to the signs, you should not drive on the section over the steps. But it's quite possible. Theoretically, of course.
