The old monastery complex is now used as a rehabilitation center. The St.Katharinental Café is located right on the Rhine - highly recommended! On nice weekends you should reserve a table in advance.

Today's seal tower was built in 1545 by Martin Heunsler from Stein am Rhein. It replaced an older building that served as the eastern entrance to the city. As early as the 16th century, the tower served not only as a clock tower, but also to store documents and the city seal. In 1863 the passage was increased by one meter. In 1943/44 the tower and the clockwork were extensively restored.

I'm from the area. I've done it X times. Schaffhausen to Stein am Rhein. In Diessenhofen continue on the Swiss side. is beautiful too

The predecessor of the Seal Tower protected the city's eastern entrance. In 1545 the current seal tower was built by Martin Henseler from Stein a. Rh. built. The tower was already used to store documents and the city seal in the 16th century.
