After two lookout towers on the Demmerkogel had already burned down, this magnificent lookout tower was opened in 2023, offering stunning views of the surrounding area and far into Slovenia. A drinks vending machine is located in a hut right next to the lookout tower. Drinking water dispensers and a restroom are located a few meters further down the access road, almost before the final steep section to the lookout tower.

At 23.8m it towers above the tallest trees and offers a wonderful panoramic view as far as Graz in the north or Riegersburg in the east

It is simply wonderful to hike along many vineyards on the Glanzer wine tour and to hike up to the Lubekogel to enjoy the fantastic views.

The lookout tower is 30 years old this year and is located at 633m. Once you have climbed the 117 steps, you have a wonderful view from the Koralpe over Stub- and Gleinalpe in a westerly direction and to the east Gleichenberger Kögel and Stradnerkogel

This "summit" is 550m high and slightly hidden away from the hiking trail and easily accessible from Lebring and Wildon (also easy to reach by public transport)!

The new observation tower has a platform height of 23.8 m, ensuring a panoramic view in all four directions. Furthermore, the combination of metal and wooden construction fits well into the existing landscape. Several nesting boxes for different species of birds have been integrated into the outer cladding, which can be cleaned from the inside if necessary. The overall project is a very good complement to the “The Great Adventure on the Demmerkogel” project that was started a few years ago - a family hiking trail with fun and games. The grand opening took place on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
