My lake TIME at Lake Millstatt Its name alone sounds like southern longing and a thousand promises. Its water is mild and velvety soft, warming up to a pleasant 27°C in midsummer. Lake Millstatt is a lake for sporty people, families and summer vacationers AND for TIME for two. Swimming at Lake Millstatt Swimming out onto the mirror-smooth lake early in the morning, building sandcastles with the children, jumping into the lake after a bike tour or simply enjoying a relaxing day of swimming - there are more than a dozen opportunities to do this at Lake Millstatt. 12 lidos and five free lake entrances invite you to swim in Lake Millstatt.

THE GRANATTOR ON LAKE MILLSTÄTTER... ... a place with history and views in Carinthia For hikers on the path of love it is the destination. For hikers on the Alpe-Adria Trail, a look back at the beginning of their journey and for families, perhaps the first 2000 peak with their children... the Granattor, a mighty passage on the ridge of the Millstätter Alpe. Garnet stones that rain and snow have washed out of the rock, that have been shaped into almost perfect spheres by wind and weather... Hundreds of thousands, poured out as a generous gift, precious stones as far as you can see... The ridge in the north of Lake Millstätter See contains the largest garnet deposit in the Alps. This is indicated by the Granattor, which was built in 2009 as one of eight squares with history and views. Similar to the ruby-red garnet stones, the gate is also subject to transience. The cubic orientation was copied from ancient Roman and Greek architecture. Tons of garnet rock fill the pillars.
