The bridge serves as a shortcut if we don't have time to walk all the way around the pond. It offers beautiful views of the water on both sides.

Wonderful for cycling, relaxing and running. The avenues provide pleasant cooling on hot summer days.

In summer, you can rent boats. The newly built kiosk has a nice selection at reasonable prices. Supposedly, this is where you can find the most beautiful sunset in Cologne. Even on weekends or holidays, it's never crowded.

A piece of canal connects the lower Decksteiner pond in the outer green belt to the upper pond. If you only want to go around part of the area, you can use a bridge at the junction.

On a cycle tour along the so-called "outer green belt", where the Prussian fortifications were once supposed to protect the city, a relaxing blue color always mixes with the green of meadows, bushes and trees: at this point it is the "Kalscheurer Weiher", so named after the town of Kalscheuren, which, in terms of local politics, is by no means part of Cologne, but rather part of the city of Hürth (in the Rhein-Erft district).
