The Black Hut is located in the heart of Einbeck's city forest on the Hube hill. Situated on several circular hiking trails, it offers perfect shelter in bad weather and an ideal rest stop. Equipped with benches and a table, you can enjoy your snack here in peace and quiet. The information board shows you the various hiking trails and viewpoints in the city forest.

The charcoal burner's hut is a shelter in the Hube municipal forest of Einbeck. It offers hikers a protected resting place and its construction is reminiscent of charcoal burning in the 18th and 19th centuries, when charcoal was an important raw material. The hut is located directly on the Fairy Tale Forest circular trail, making it ideal both as a stopover and as a starting point for exploring the diverse surroundings. Well-maintained paths lead through dense woodland all around the hut. Besides the rustling of leaves in the wind, with a bit of luck you might also hear the songs of forest birds.

The Einbeck Fairy Tale Forest lies on the Hube ridge above Einbeck. This ancient deciduous forest is largely left to its own devices: gnarled oaks, mighty beeches, and bizarrely shaped hornbeams characterize the landscape. Some of these giants are said to be over 250 years old. With 22 different tree species, the forest is quite biodiverse. A richly structured habitat has formed among tree hollows, deadwood, mosses, and fungi, providing shelter and food for many animals. You can explore it on the Fairy Tale Forest circular trail. The three-kilometer path leads you past 15 stations through the atmospheric forest.

Numerous paths wind through the Einbeck municipal forest around Negenborn, atop the Hube hill. A large portion of this contiguous woodland belongs to the "Hube, Greener Wald and Luhberg" landscape conservation area. Stands of beech trees and oak-hornbeam trees alternate. Some very old trees can be found in the older sections of the forest. A few oaks are estimated to be 280 years old. The deadwood provides an important habitat for numerous insects, birds, and small mammals.

The Einbeck municipal forest lies predominantly on the Hube ridge and has been owned by the city since the 13th century. The timber from the forest was used for house construction and heating. For a long time, it was managed as a wood-pasture and later as a coppice forest. Since the opening of the Kaiser-Friedrich Tower in 1900, the forest has also become a popular destination for outings. Today, numerous paths wind through the lush greenery among oaks, ash trees, maples, and hornbeams.

The Great Pond is located in the heart of the Einbeck municipal forest. This body of water, designated a natural monument, and its shoreline provide habitat for numerous animal species. The pond is home to sticklebacks, crucian carp, common carp, roach, and tench.

The Königsstuhl cabin is located on the Hube hill north of Einbeck. From here you have a fantastic view of the surrounding hills. The cabin and its barbecue area can be rented by groups. Advance booking is required.

North of Einbeck lies the Hube ridge. Right on the edge of town, wide forest roads and various narrow paths wind through the magnificent mixed forest. The views of the meadows and fields surrounding Einbeck open up again and again. Several huts and rest areas offer places to take a break. At the fallow deer enclosure, you can observe deer grazing.
