The wooden bridge is certainly an eye-catcher when I drove over it on my road bike. Would the wooden planks of the wooden bridge have been more enjoyable than the smooth surface of the car bridge?

Spreewald Lakes near Uetze – A Natural Idyll with History The Spreewald Lakes near Uetze, once artificially created by farmer Friedrich Meinecke, are now an idyllic local recreation area. Inspired by the Spreewald forest in Brandenburg, a unique water landscape with small islands, canals, and weekend cottages right on the water emerged here in the 1970s. The neighboring Irenensee, with its sandy beach, invites you to swim, paddle, and hike. The circular path over footbridges and bridges, which brings the lake landscape to life, is particularly attractive. However, the area is increasingly suffering from the effects of climate change – falling water levels and fish mortality are warning signs that the region is taking seriously. Conclusion: A charming destination with a special flair that offers relaxation while raising awareness of the importance of conscious interaction with nature.
