From the north, a relatively easy, clearly visible, unmarked path leads to the plateau on which Schnabelburg Castle stands. The descent to the south is very steep and, when the ground is wet and/or covered in autumn leaves, also very slippery.

No visit to Zug's old town is complete without a detour to "Zug Castle". A gem of a castle. Inside there is a museum, which is even free for holders of the "Raiffeisen Member-Plus Card". In the keep there is a small but inviting self-service cafeteria. If you want and if the weather permits, you can also have your coffee or cake at one of the countless tables outside in the romantic and light-flooded castle courtyard. Right behind the castle is the historic "Kunsthaus" and right next to the main entrance is the lovely "Mariahilf" chapel and the "St. Oswald Church".
