Especially when the heather is in bloom, the Bald Asten is a sea of flowers. There is also a hotel up here. At 841.9 meters, it is the third highest mountain in the Rothaargebirge after the Langenberg and Hegekopf and the second highest mountain in North Rhine-Westphalia after the Langenberg. The Lenne and Odeborn springs and a high heath are located on the mountain.

Many ways around and over the Kahler Asten. A visit to the Lenne spring is always worthwhile. Lots of information boards with interesting information.

The beautiful heathland around the Astenturm offers plenty of peace and quiet and a view of the distance. But when the sheep are on the move it can also be entertaining

Wonderful area in the Hochheide around the Astenturm. Many benches invite you to linger, many signs and information boards offer explanations and make the tour an experience.

Unfortunately there is no possibility to shelter there in bad weather.😒 When the weather is dry, it's a dream to take a break up there! 😃
