The Giller Tower is a 15 meter high lookout tower on Mount Giller. Its total height is 668 meters above sea level. Financed by the Sauerland mountain association and numerous private and state donors, the tower was built as a steel frame in 1892. The steel construction was restored exactly 100 years later. The Gillerturm offers a good view and a look back at the Giller nature reserve with the Ginsberger Heide and the Ginsberg farm, at the Ginsburg and at the high-altitude town of Lützel.

The detour to the tower is definitely worth it, beautiful view with information board

The traces of deforestation and the last storms can be seen everywhere.

After the clearing of the spruces and recently the numerous fallen trees due to the storms of the last few weeks, new wide views are possible from the tower. Unfortunately, it sometimes looks as if a giant tree had played Mikado.

The highest elevation in southern Wittgenstein. Unfortunately we were there in the fog and I can't say anything about the view. Otherwise you can plan the compass in beautiful hiking tours.

From here you can make a short run straight to the Ilsetal Trail.

The summit is somewhat disappointing because it can hardly be recognized as such. Is it really good to set up wind turbines right here?
