The Burgbergturm stands on the 534 meter high castle hill. It can only be reached by bike or on foot. From the observation tower you have a great view of the Odenwald, Steigerwald and the Swabian Alb. At the tower there is also a restaurant with a beer garden, a playground and a rest area.

Farmed again at the weekend. A short break pays off.

The construction was partially funded by donations. Steps and steel girders bear the names of donors. For the ascent, a small contribution is requested in a collection box at the bottom of the stairs to finance the upkeep (March 2021: adults 1 €, families 2 €).

The Altenberg Tower was inaugurated on October 7, 2007. It is 42.5 m in total and 35.18 m high from the ground to the viewing platform; the parapet of the completely covered platform is at a height of about 600 m.

A visit to the castle hill is always worthwhile, the observation tower is another challenge.

Secluded insider tip. The Burgberg tower protrudes in the middle of the forest. Unfortunately not always accessible, but there is a good opportunity for a rest here.
