The Hangelstein is a 305 meter high wooded basalt cone of volcanic origin and an offshoot of the Vogelberg. A very beautiful nature reserve and hiking area!

The viewing summit is 225 meters above sea level and is a garbage dump in the Giessen district, popularly known as Monte Scherbelino. Many discarded items are buried here under a thick layer of earth. Today, it's a fantastic location with a magnificent panoramic view and constant air movement.

There is a segregation plan for the Dünsberg with legally designated trails and hiking trails. Please note the signs.

The stones are a bit off the main path and not easy to find. You have to follow an almost invisible footpath under autumn leaves. It's rare in the area to find so many landmarks in one place.
