The "Westphalian Sea", as our lake is affectionately called, is the largest dam in the Sauerland and a popular destination. 40 kilometers of shoreline invite you to sunbathe, hike, cycle and enjoy all kinds of water sports. The diverse landscape around the lake has its charm in every season. In spring, when nature awakens, in summer, when the lake offers a welcome refreshment, in autumn with its magnificent play of colors and in winter, when clouds of mist envelop the water's surface. A great cycle path along the banks of the Ruhr, partly still under construction. But here you have beautiful views of the river and the works of art along the way offer great photo opportunities.

The view of Lake Möhne is really idyllic and invites you to linger and relax.

A viewing hill with an observation platform was created here in 2008 by the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation. The vantage point can only be reached by stairs.

The road through the forest is with a normal bike - also e-bike z. Currently not passable!!! 7/20/2023

This dam is simply impressive. And it is unimaginable that it was destroyed by a bomb attack and then quickly repaired. On the north side of the wall there is a memorial stone for all the victims who died in the attack or the tsunami, but also for the victims who died during the reconstruction.

A really beautiful corner there at the Möhnesee. Lots of space for leisure activities, whether hiking, biking or water sports. Everyone can be happy there. And if not, there are enough restaurants and cafés around the lake. 😜😁
