The illuminated cross has only recently been put back in place; the previous one was needed elsewhere 😏. From the limestone plateau, you have the best view of the Unstrut Valley and the surrounding villages.

Worth a short hike at any time of year. There are a few small trails, but don't expect miracles. It's beautiful in both summer and winter.

The museum on the Petersberg is highly recommended as there are always different exhibitions.

The ruins of the monastery church are the central element of the complex. The monastery on the Petersberg was founded in the 12th century and was initially a Benedictine monastery. Over the centuries, the monastery was rebuilt and expanded several times before it was dissolved in the 16th century during the Reformation.

If you are interested in old toys, especially tin trains from the Kraus-Fandor brand, you have come to the right place. These can be viewed in the permanent exhibition in very original display cases. There are also changing exhibitions on historical toys.
