The castle belonged, among others, to the parents of the later tsarina, Catherine the Great. The castle grounds themselves are not accessible. However, the area in front of them also offers rest areas. On Open Monument Day (every second Sunday in September), individual rooms of the castle can be visited from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

One of my favorite bike paths in the direction of Wahlitz, Gommern and other destinations... and a visit to the 🐎 Pferdehof Dahme in Wahlitz is a highlight, especially for children. Good food and drinks are also available here...🍳🧆🍰🍻😋👍

A beautiful old place that still feels wonderfully convivial if you get the hang of it and use a little imagination. For many centuries, the Klusklause stood here, which welcomed and fed pilgrims, travellers, soldiers, princes,... and collected the toll for using the former Klusdamm over the formerly damp Elbe meadows to Magdeburg.
