St. Moritz is a beautiful man-made pond located on the eastern edge of Blue Hills Reservation. The pond was once a popular spot for competitive ice skaters, and hosted the annual St. Moritz Winter Carnival between 1929 and 1942, until the pond no longer froze over for such lengths of time.

Wompatuck State Park is a little paradise for outdoor lovers. The mountain bike trail network is extremely varied. Beginners and intermediate riders have plenty of trail options. The 3 mile St. Moritz Loop (follow the green dots on the map) shows you the beauty of the eastern Blue Hills. You will pass the idyllic St. Moritz pond and stroll through a partially rocky forest.

Bare Cove hugs one side of the Fore river across from Weymouth's great esker park. It's a former military installation turned into a park. As a result of the military presence, like near by Wompatuck, much of the park has paved paths although the paths are not in great shape always. This is a really lovely spot and I think one of the highlights of the South Shore. Very under appreciated I think. Hingham could do much more to improve the park, especially around parking and signage off 3a.

Beautiful park for strolling. As a peninsula you have lovely harbor views all around with marsh and harbor scenery. There are also some lovely woods and big open grass fields. One of the finest parks in Metro Boston.
