A very idyllic place!

Unfortunately, there's barely a clear view of the fenced-in area anymore – the surrounding trees block the view. A few buildings above the pond are still visible, but there's no sign of any habitable barrels.

This lake is near Ottenstein and has caused a lot of misery in 2024

Don't be put off by the dark brown water of the natural bathing pond, as the local population has always said that the boggy water has healing properties. The bathing pond is fed with water directly from the Schrems high moor. [schrems.at]

We read somewhere that this dam would no longer be approved today. Nevertheless, the lake fits well into the landscape. It has a strange, branched shape!

The nature conservation project “Libellenteich” was built in 2003 by the Hengl company around the old rocking stone “Alte Kuh”. In 2004, the Hengl company received the nature conservation award for this.
