Labská bouda - Czech tourist shelter in the Giant Mountains, located at an altitude of 1,340 meters above sea level, above the upper edge of the Labský důl valley. The sources of the Elbe River are located 1 kilometer away (hence the name of the facility). It is located in the Karkonosze National Park. The origins of the shelter date back to 1830, when an enterprising woman, a certain die Blasse, built a small stand made of stones and bark in this place, where she sold goat cheese, milk and vodka. Later, the cottage was rebuilt to accommodate tourists. Its owners were families with the surnames Devátý and Šír from Rokytnice nad Jizerou. In the years 1878-1879, a real shelter was finally built - the mountain hut was built by Count Jan Harrach. In the next decade it was further expanded. This building embodies the symbiosis of human creation and natural beauty and is a true masterpiece. A short but intense climb leads to the summit. And although the path is demanding in places, the effort is quickly forgotten once you reach the top. Because up there, high above the valley, there is a view that is second to none. Especially in the morning light, when the first rays of sun break through the fog and bathe the valley in a golden light, you witness a natural spectacle that is second to none. The hut, where you can find protection from wind and weather, was designed with a lot of dedication and a sense of detail. It is a place of peace where you can stop and fully enjoy the beauties of Bohemian Switzerland. Despite the popularity of this place and the often numerous visitors, there are moments of silence, especially at the end of the day, when the sun bathes the sky in warm colors and you have the breathtaking scenery almost to yourself.
