Historic? But not old-fashioned. Solothurn's old town couldn't be more impressive. Romantic alleys, old cobblestones, a magnificent cathedral, excellent restaurants, and a cool shopping atmosphere that's second to none. Not renovated to death, but preserved as a livable place.
