Near Biskirchen, the former railway line begins with a steady, railway-style climb. I haven't ridden such a luxurious 10-kilometer-long bike path in a long time: perfectly paved, continuous lane markings, wooden guardrails, bridges, and overpasses of the finest quality through rocks and forest. Above all, the anticipation of the endless descent!

The rest area is the former Wallendorf stop on the Ulm Valley Railway. A table with benches and a small shelter are perfect for refueling on the way toward the Westerwald.

From the bench, you have a fantastic view of the Krombach Dam and the campsite on the opposite bank. The map clearly shows the location and the further route for hiking or cycling.

This structure is also part of the energy trail along the Rehbach stream. Its function is to equalize the pressure between the reservoir and the power plant.
