Unfortunately, the end point of the tour is incorrectly depicted; the accommodation is on Lolland. You have to cross the bridge near Nykøbing and then turn left onto a narrow cycle path. Soon after, you'll come to a narrow, low tunnel under the railway line. From there, it's about 4 km to the accommodation.

This 15th-century church is a historic gem. It houses some of Denmark's greatest ecclesiastical treasures, including a painting by Cranach and the enormous Mecklenburg family tree of Dowager Queen Sophie.

The water tower was built in 1908 and was Denmark's first reinforced concrete building of this size. The water tower is 43 meters high, there are 7 floors and 147 steps, and the observation deck is at a height of 32 meters.

Unfortunately it was closed on June 30th, like almost everything else here in Nykøbing is closed on Sundays. I know from other places that it is open in the summer or at the weekend and closed off-season or on a weekday. Everything seems to be different here, they just have a summer break in July 😂 and are closed on Sundays.

In addition to the busy road, wide cycle paths have been built on the bridge over the Guldborg. From here you have a wonderful view across the Sound to Nykøbing. As of summer 2024: The cycle path on the south side is closed for a longer period due to construction work. The railway line is being modernized on this side. However, the path on the north side is sufficient.
