In German further down Gurrehus is not far from the much-visited castle ruins. The origins go back several centuries. It was rebuilt in 1881 in the style of Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. The astronomer Ole Rømer (1640-1710) was commissioned by the king to measure the road network in Denmark. The Danish mile set by him is now 7538 m.
