The Spitalwiese is a wide, sunny meadow at the edge of the forest, perfect for a relaxing break in nature. Here you can sit in the grass, let your gaze wander across the open space, and listen to the buzzing of insects. It's ideal as a quiet stop on hikes, runs, or bike rides.

Franz-Ferdinand-Höhe is a tranquil viewpoint in the Vienna Woods, offering panoramic views across the surrounding hills and down into the Vienna Basin. A small clearing with a bench invites you to rest after the climb. It's the perfect spot for a short break to enjoy the view before continuing your hike on trails and forest paths.

The Franz-Karl viewpoint offers a sweeping panorama across the Vienna Woods and down into the Vienna Basin. On clear days, you can see far across fields, villages, and all the way to the Vienna skyline. It's the perfect spot for a short break to admire the view, take a photo, and breathe in the fresh air before continuing your hike along the forest trails.

The Vienna City Hiking Trail 8 leads you from the western edge of Vienna into the tranquil Vienna Woods – with well-marked paths, plenty of forest, and small streams. Along the way, forest roads alternate with narrow trails, offering frequent views of the Vienna Basin. Ideal as a leisurely half-day hike, easily accessible by public transport.

The Mostalm is permanently closed and no longer operates as a refreshment stop. The building is empty and now serves only as a landmark for hikers exploring the Vienna Woods. Please observe all barriers and signs on site and use other huts or inns for your breaks.

Next to it there is a nice bench to rest on.

The Sängerbrunnen fountain was erected by the Purkersdorf Beautification Society in 1875 to commemorate a concert by the Vienna Men's Choir. A plaque at the rear of the fountain commemorates this. The small monument and fountain were part of the nature trail from 1967 onwards. The water fed the Fürstenberg fountain on the main square until the 1980s.
