Ards Forest Park is a wonderful place to come running at any time of the year. The terrain is very varied with sand dunes, beaches, lakes, forests and boardwalks, all there to delight your senses. There is a network of trails throughout the park that are just asking to be explored.

The trail takes you right past the tranquility of Sheep Haven Bay Beach. In Irish its name is Cuan na gCaorach, 'Haven of the Sheep', but this is due to a mistake in translation. Its name is actually Cuan na gCurrach which means 'Haven of the Boats' but it was misheard as 'sheep'.

Also known as Lucky Shell Beach or Monks Beach, Binnagorm Beach is a gorgeous stretch of sand that extend out in front of you on the trail. You can get down to the bay if you'd like to explore further on your run.
