Burghley House is always worth a wander through. It has wide shared paths for walking and cycling so it's just for slow speeds. Free parking if you have a car.

Impressive parkland thanks to C Brown. Whilst in the area pedal a few miles along the quiet roads on the north and east sides of the estate to visit the Hills and Holes National Nature Reserve in Barnack.

Nice straight Fen Road, Tongue End is a important area in the history of ice skating ⛸ in this area of the drains in years gone by.

A handy place to stop if the bonk threatens when riding the quiet lanes around here.

Ride over this lovely bridge in Ketton, heading south, and within a mile you will be tackling the steady climb to Collyweston featured in these pages.

Wide, scenic views across the fields towards the roofs of Braceborough on the skyline.

The road gains a few metres of elevation as it crosses the River Glen, which is all it needs to look miles across the fen towards the low hills that rise beyond Bourne.

Arrow-straight and virtually empty level road past the flooded pits and quarries that now form a series of lakes. Great route for a pace line.

The house next to the bridge is for sale, for anyone who doesn't mind express trains roaring past at roof height!

A maze of quiet lanes to pedal around in the area. A lovely inn, but pricey; the kind of place to go to for a treat.

Didn’t get as far as the house but the driveway looked pretty impressive.
