The beautiful carved wooden door, on a tree near Forge Dam, is the work of Sheffield City Council. The council revealed they installed the door, on an old Horse Chestnut tree in the woodland surrounding Forge Dam Park, in an effort to engage local children in woodland folklore. Easy to reach on paved paths, and not far from Sheffield city centre. There's an information board about this interesting, tragic bit of history of Endcliffe Park. There's a cafe nearby, plus the woodlands to explore. If it wasn't for the memorial there would be no indication of what happened here.

Not actually a bike path so pick a time not busy with walkers

Its a great walk in ecclesall woods many interesting from the stream, bird sanctuary and tree lined paths and a cafe if you need a drink and 5 min

Knife grinding worshop, powered by the water wheel which closed in the 1930's. Restored to working condition in 2010/2011 and open to visitors on Saturdays & Sundays 10am - 4pm to experience part of Sheffield's early industry

Memorial marking the WWII crash site of the USAAF B-17 Flying Fortress "Mi Amigo". The pilot received a posthumous Distinguished Flying Cross for sacrificing himself and his crew to avoid hitting children playing in the park.

Stepping Stones across the Brook into the woodland area. Big solid & non-slippy rocks in the Porter Brook.

Well worth a look, the volunteers will happily tell you about the place!

Some fairly natural, easy, public bridleways to explore in Ecclesall Wood, don't underestimate them. Ecclesall is an ancient woodland, this section along Limb Brook is beautiful, remember you are sharing with horse riders and walkers.

Nice quite spot with the gravestone a little further up the trail.

Pond created in 2008-2009 from an old quarry by the Friends of Ecclesall Woods and Sheffield City Council. Nice spot worth including in your route

Path not as map, following alongside Limb Brook. Plenty of access points to the rocky, twisting babbling brook. Narrower through the trees, rougher & muddier than the bridleways, a great alternative

One of my favourite parks and can be built into many larger routes.

Sadly the statue has not being maintained very well but it’s still nice to look at be going for a ride

Good local produce in the cafe and the farm shop
