The fort is privately owned and not open to visitors. Nevertheless, the trip is worth it, especially for the magnificent views over Stroud to the Severn.

This is an absolutely stunning place for garden accessories. They're sustainably crafted / sourced, they look really pretty, and they're amazing value! I'd highly recommend checking them out online! I wasn't aware they existed until passing the store on this walk, I now own a few nest boxes & bird feeders.

Rodborough Fort is a historical landmark perched ontop of Rodborough Hill near Stroud. Its hilltop vantage point meant it played a vital rote in strategic defence during different periods of history. You can read about the fort at its location and learn more about its fascinating past.

Minchinhampton Common is a National Trust owned area of Cotswold scarp top located above the Stroud Valleys and Severn Estuary. Its elevated position affords you some wonderful views across the neighbouring towns and villages, as well as over the valley and, on a clear day, across the Severn Way to Wales. Its open and spacious feel makes a wonderful place for a dog walk or for the kids to run around and burn some energy.

Avening is a typical, charming Cotswold village. Explore narrow streets lined with honey-coloured cottages, a historic church, a quaint pub, The Bell Inn or Queen Matilda, and a delightful tearoom,

Box Woods is a beautiful Cotswolds woodland located not too far from Stroud, known for its dense canopy of evergreen forestry. It's only a small woodland, but a wonderful place for a quick nature fix and escape from the bustle.
