Small church at the Marienrode monastery estate

Anyone coming from Steinberg and wanting to walk across the fields to Marienrode will have to take a detour. The bridge over the stream is closed. It's impossible to get past it because of the brambles and reeds.

If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by 👀.

The nature reserve is located on the southwest slope of the Mühlenberg mountain between Barienrode and Söhre near Hildesheim. Former use as sheep pasture and orchards favored the development of nutrient-poor grasslands and heather stands.

I was still very unfamiliar with pheasants, but here I can at least see the different species.

A great destination for nature lovers of all ages! Free parking, and no entry fee for the enclosures and playground 😄 The money saved will then be spent on food at the Kupferschmiede restaurant, but on the one hand, this is avoidable, and on the other, it's worth it because the quality of the food and service is excellent! A lovely outing.
