Behind the old mill, the old wooden mill wheel is still suspended in the water. There are plenty of lovely seating areas and tables all around for a rest. The trees provide shade, perfect for a break.

Watermill, beautifully situated after a tour through the forested grounds of the Merzen golf course. The forest path is very easy to ride on an e-bike.

The natural design, biotopes and a nature reserve, as well as a hiking and cycling path along the shore, create a relaxing atmosphere, with numerous benches along the path inviting visitors to linger.

With a water surface area of 12.7 hectares, the lake serves as flood protection for the city, but is increasingly developing into a popular local recreation area.

The Old St. Alexander Church in Wallenhorst is one of the oldest churches in the Diocese of Osnabrück. Its origins date back to the Carolingian period. It stands on a pre-Christian boulder foundation and incorporates stylistic elements from the major Central European periods: Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque.
