The four-way stone in the Dudenhofen forest

In 2004, the stonemason Gerhard Grimm donated the so-called “Four-Pillar Stone” to the Ganerb Forestry Association.

At certain times of the day, depending on the light, the paths in the old part of the forest cemetery are magical. It is also a place for us living people to find peace and quiet and to reflect on our own thoughts.

The FriedWald Dudenhofen was opened on April 18, 2008 and is located in the middle of the Rehbach-Speyerbach landscape protection area. Due to the mild climate and southern European-like vegetation, this region is also called “German Tuscany”. The burial forest is as FFH and bird sanctuary designated. Pine trees characterize the mixed deciduous forest and give it brightness and warmth. Former sand dunes in the middle of the FriedWald are a reminder that the earth is changing due to a wide variety of influences. Where there was a sea millions of years ago, an ecologically valuable mixed pine/deciduous forest thrives today.
