슈타트파르키르헤 성 로렌티우스 신슈타트에는 1270년 도시 설립 직후인 13세기에도 첫 번째 교회가 세워졌을 것으로 추정됩니다. 15세기 말, 오늘날에도 상당 부분 보존되어 있는 후기 고딕 양식의 홀 교회는 도시의 중심 교차로에 세워졌습니다. 바로크 시대에는 당시의 취향에 맞게 내부 장식이 변경되었습니다. 1723년에는 탑에 새로운 상층부가, 1773년에는 바로크 양식의 돔이 추가되었습니다. 1741년부터 내부는 재설계되었으며, 1779년 새로운 주 제단이 마련되면서 작업이 마무리되었습니다. 크리스티안 프뢸리히가 그린 제단화에는 교회 수호성인 로마의 성 로렌티우스의 순교가 묘사되어 있습니다. 1945년 4월 26일과 27일, 제2차 세계 대전이 끝나기 직전의 포격으로 인해 교회 탑이 심하게 손상되어 1945년 10월에 노후화로 인해 붕괴되었고, 이로 인해 바로크 양식의 주 제단과 함께 성가대석이 파괴되었습니다. 재건은 재정적인 이유로 처음에는 지연되었습니다. 파괴된 동쪽 부분의 신도는 한 칸 더 연장되어 성가대석이 더 동쪽으로 이동했습니다. 교회 내부는 아직 남아 있는 후기 고딕 양식의 칸에 맞춰 별 모양 리브 볼트로 장식되었습니다. 성가대 탑은 현대적인 형태로 재건되었습니다. 1951년 미하엘 부흐베르거 대주교에 의해 교회 건물이 재봉헌되었습니다. 교회 내부는 제2차 바티칸 공의회의 지침에 따라 매우 소박하게 꾸며져 있습니다. 성가대석에는 신자 제단, 독서대, 성체 안치소 외에도 1951년 로베르트 라볼트가 제작한 뒷면 창문의 스테인드글라스가 특히 주목할 만합니다. 이 스테인드글라스는 삼위일체를 묘사한 것으로, 소위 '은총의 왕좌'이며, 슬픔의 성모와 교회 수호성인 로렌티우스의 순교가 양쪽에 배치되어 있습니다. 1500년경의 귀중한 작품인 북쪽 측면 제단은 날개 달린 제단으로, 닫혔을 때 출처를 알 수 없는 후기 고딕 양식의 성모 마리아상이 숨겨져 있습니다. 남쪽 측면 제단은 신바로크 양식의 주 제단에서 나온 조각상들로만 구성되어 있습니다. 주된 인물은 성 볼프강이며, 네 명의 교회 박사들인 암브로시우스, 히에로니무스, 아우구스티누스, 그레고리우스 대제가 행렬용 막대에 동반되어 있습니다. 또한 원래 신바로크 양식 주 제단의 주된 인물이었으나 현재 북쪽 기둥 중 하나에 세워져 있는 성 로렌티우스의 조각상도 흥미롭습니다.
