Huts are typically available to hire for a day or week and are used as a day base for families on the beach.

It's worth a visit. There are beautiful ship models, admission is free, but a small donation is gratefully accepted.

It's a nice little pub, stopped off here when the rain started. Unusually it stocked Belhaven beers which tasted great, they also had hand-drawn barrel beers which I do like to see. The food looked great, I only had the sausage roll which was nice. https://www.sailorshome.co.uk/

This is a Adnams Brewery tap room, the room is part of the hotels and has about 6 taps of Adnams beers. They also have the whole selection of spirits and wines. Nicely decorated room, it is a 'posh' tap room rather than the rustic working tap room for most breweries.

Near Lowestoft, yet very quiet, Kessingland Beach is long, sandy and wide with cliffs stretching behind. It feels very wild ad unspoilt. Even so, there are still a number of cafes to chose from on the waterfront and views of Lowestoft to the north.

This coast has a wealth of golden sand beaches and Kessingland is no different. You can walk dogs on the beach all year round and the Suffolk Coast Path runs along the back of it. The low cliffs that back the beach only add to its impressive scale.

Britain's coastline is scattered with pillboxes, relics of the Second World War. These coastal defences sit squat on beaches and in sand dunes, watching the sea in silence. This one lies just back from the beach, half sunken from coastal erosion.

According to Greek myths, Triton was the son of Poseidon – both sea gods. This sculpture was commissioned in 1850 and is now a listed structure. The Bath stone it's made out of has been restored but has weathered again thanks to the continuous onslaught of the elements.

This thatched church sits atop the cliffs at Pakefield in Suffolk and has done since medieval times. There has been a church on this site since before Roman occupation although nothing remains of former iterations. It remains an active church with services several times a week.

St Andrews is a partially ruined church by the sea in the hamlet of Covehithe. An Anglican church, its ruins are grand and well worth seeking out – it mostly dates from the 15th century although there are older sections. In the 17th century, a smaller, cheaper-to-maintain church was built against the original tower, and this church is still in use today.

This area becomes incredibly busy in the summer months with cars and vans double parked along the road in so be aware if you fancied driving then hiking or riding
