Steep to start but levels out a little as you head around the corner before ramping up again a bit. Lovely views in all directions.

Absolutely iconic, I never tire of cycling past this jagged edge! It's much quieter than taking the main roads, but as there are a few car parks on this road, it's not a car-free route by any stretch. At peak times it can be busy, but cars are used to cyclists down here so there aren't usually issues.

Fantastic cafe, most reasonably priced in the village. Cakes, warm food, and staff are all top notch 🤓👌

Great climb up Whitley Road over Whitley Common, past the wind turbines.

Fast decent into Hathersage via the 'back' road. The road narrows in places, can be a bit bumpy, and has some hairpins so keep your hands on the brakes. It's lined by drystone wall, so you definitely want to stay upright!

Good cafe to stop at for cyclists

Great way to cycle from Ladybower dam or Bamford to Hope and avoid the main road traffic. Quiet most of the time with the odd tractor, popular with hikers and cyclists. Wonderful views looking upto Shatton Moor.

Cracking stretch of road along the ridge, usually very quiet with traffic and great views on both sides. The Barrel Inn (half way along) is a pretty decent pub too.

Great place to stop for a chip butty & a slab of cake after your walk or ride at Langsett barn

The bottom part helps you ease into it and the hard bit starts a bit further up past the houses on the left

Lock bike up outside and enjoy a hot drink and lovely cakes 👍

Friendly cafe, great tea, coffee, breakfast,cake. Whatever you need to refuel.👍 Stands outside to place your bike too.
