Maigh Cuilinn is a village near Galway, offering easy access to the scenic Connemara region and attractions like Moycullen Castle and the village’s vibrant GAA culture.

Aughnanure Castle is open to the public and it is worth paying the entrance fee (€5 adult) to explore the well preserved tower house and hear from the extremely knowledgeable guides. The castle was the stronghold of the O’Flaherty family, who ruled this area for 300 years. Their motto was, ‘Fortune favours the strong’. Whilst climbing up the pass to the Galway Wind Park there are fantastic views behind of the blue waters of Lough Corrib.

A unique place to visit, Brigit's Gardens showcases celtic woodlands and wildflower meadows. It is a popular visitor attraction with a cafe on site.
