The church was first mentioned in 1149. The tower dates back to the 11th century, presumably the keep of the castle of Knight Arnold von Hiltensweiler. The Arnold Chapel is only slightly younger.

Free parking, accessible from Schäferhof, Waldesch access at Baustoff-Gaissmaier / Regionalwerk, under the B467. From the WP, the Schäferhof forest is open to joggers, Nordic walkers, walkers, dog walkers, and cyclists. There is a barbecue area with a playground nearby and a bike-skate park. The gravel paths are often arranged in a square shape. A large fenced gravel pit in the southwest limits the radius of action a little. The traffic from the Tettnang bypass (B467) can be heard at the edge of the forest, inside the forest 🌲🌳🍁PEACE😊
