The trail isn't actually difficult or steep in dry summer. However, the grassy slope it runs across is very steep, and the trail is very narrow (only about 25 cm wide for long stretches). In winter, the trail would disappear completely in snow, leaving a steep, impassable slope.

In the off-season or winter, you can take a break on the terrace, protected from the wind. From the saddle 50 m higher, you have a great view to the east.

The Mitter Hut is located about 50m below the saddle and offers a beautiful view towards the east/Glashütte. The hut is not open but you can have a nice rest there in the off-season/winter because it has a wind-protected veranda.

Stefan probably means the old north-south crossing, but komoot classifies this as a normal trail. The crossing itself is not difficult, but there are the stream crossings mentioned where you absolutely have to have a head for heights.

The Mitterhütte is open during the grazing season from June to the end of September. There is no day off during this time. However, it may be that the Almerin is busy with work in the field or other tasks and is therefore not present for a short time. And there are many such tasks to be done in the hut and on the grounds. There is the usual food in the huts, i.e. bacon, sausage and cheese sandwiches, as well as the usual drinks, including milk from the farm's own sheep and goats. Here, at an altitude of 1054 m, is approximately halfway on the way to the Hochalm coming from the Sylvensteinsee. The hut is not open but offers beautiful views and space for a rest.

Beautifully located and quaint. Unfortunately, the Almerin no longer offers snacks or drinks. But a quick chat is definitely possible 😉

Mountain biking is not permitted in this area (except route 466 between Rotwand and Bechental). At radrouting.tirol you can find all routes that are permitted in Tyrol. Mountain biking is not permitted in this area. Please refer to radrouting.tirol to view all of the routes which are allowed in tirol.
