Beautiful gravel road away from traffic

The church at this location is the Catholic Church of St. John the Evangelist. The Protestant Capernaum Church is located a little further away.

Ideal for rollerblading along there, the track was even re-tarred a few years ago!

As is often the case, the former moorland was almost completely destroyed by human hands over a period of more than 100 years. The construction of the regatta course more or less destroyed the last peat remnants and the remaining water level. At the persistent insistence of the Karlsfeld conservationist Josef Koller, who died in 2010, and his book "Beloved Schwarzhölzl", the remaining area was declared a nature reserve in 1994, 25 years after Mr. Koller first submitted the application.

Right next to the Ragattastecke you will find the beautiful bathing lake.
