June 2024: Contrary to the pictures, 2/3 of the "path" / trail is quite overgrown, only accessible with long trousers and a long shirt (closed clothing), unless you enjoy the burning sensation of brushing against the nettles, some of which are waist-high. And there are lots of mosquitoes. Not suitable for a bike tour - especially since once you get to the canal you can't go any further to the top anyway, as the trail is even more overgrown there. And so you go back through the nettles without success...

Absolute calm during the week and a wonderful narrow trail that goes over fallen - but passable - trees. Magnificent views of the Göttinsee, especially when the sun is shining.

The family business, which is in its third generation, grows the natural feed for its dairy cows and young animals on the fields and meadows of the island of Töplitz. The freshly obtained cow's milk has been processed in-house since 2009 and made into cheese, quark and yoghurt by hand. All products are freshly prepared and made without the use of preservatives or additives.

The Besenwirtschaft is always open at weekends and on public holidays. It seats 60 inside and up to 120 on the terrace. The kitchen attaches great importance to a regional and seasonal origin of the food, the weekly menu is always being rewritten. Visitors can taste the wines and enjoy small dishes. When the weather is nice, you can go up the vineyard to the arbour. The Besenwirtschaft kitchen will provide you with a picnic basket with wine, food and crockery.

Depending on the season, there is a small sales table where you can buy jams and jellies on a trust basis.
