This 4,500-acre park provides protection for a number of native species on the gently rolling sandhills and prairies. One of the stated goals of Florida Forever, who purchased the land, is to oversee the return of the land to a more natural and balanced state. Visitors can enjoy hiking, bird watching, and horse riding on the 11+ miles of trails.

This park preserves and protects the home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, who is best known for her Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Yearling. Visitors can tour the property as well as access Orange Lake, which the park backs on to.

Like many lakes in this part of Florida, Lake Kerr has clean, clear water. It's shallow with an average depth of 10 feet, but the deeper areas can be over 25 feet. It's a popular spot for boating, fishing, and swimming.

This lake is behind Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church, hence the name. Though there is no public access to the lake you can get views of it as you ride through Lynne, Florida.

Ray Wayside Park is a small park near the confluence of the Ocklawaha and Silver Rivers. There are restrooms, a picnic area, and two boat launches so it would make a nice rest stop on your ride.

For hundreds of years the idea of creating a canal system across Florida has been debated. Numerous studies were undertaken and work was begun, and stopped, multiple times under a handful of different U.S. Presidents. Luckily for outdoor enthusiasts, the work that was completed has now been converted into a vast greenway across much of central Florida. The 110-mile long Greenway now offers users the chance to hike, bike, kayak, and horse ride through a natural wildlife corridor.
