In 2008 the current owner, Mr. Uwe Budach, bought the property and lovingly renovated it. The old half-timbering, made of wood and clay, was restored down to the last detail. The inner walls are provided with a special insulation and finished off with a wall heating system in clay construction. As a result, the current operator, Mr. Michael Geisler, took over the property and found the new concepts “Steakhaus 1775” and “The Wine Barn” for the restaurant and farm shop. The Pätzer front lake is a 1.7 km² large body of water. The lake has a connection to the Pätzer Hintersee in the south and to the Todnitzsee in the north via the Glunze. The Pätzer Vorderesee is part of the Dahme river system. There is no connection to the northeastern Tonsee. South of the Pätzer front lake is the district of Pätz of the municipality of Bestensee and northwest of the center of Bestensee.
